  • 3. I would like information on taxation in Ireland and how a move to Ireland might affect my foreign pensions?

    Tax matters are very personal so can be different depending on someone’s individual circumstances. We advise everyone to contact the Tax Authorities in the country they are leaving for guidelines.


    Then on arrival in Ireland, contact the relevant Revenue Office here to clarity your individual situation. Contact details for Revenue regional offices can be found HERE  


    Registering an account via the Revenue myAccount portal, where queries can be addressed for direct response can also prove helpful.

  • 5. I need to apply for my Irish birth cert. How do I go about this?

    Certificates of birth, adoption, stillbirth, marriage, civil partnership or death can be ordered online via this official Health Service Executive website (using a secure payment facility). 


    Queries in relation to certificate orders that have been placed can be emailed to: certificates@hse.ie


    The price of a standard certificate is €20 (plus postage).

  • 6. Are there any specific supports in place for survivors of instutional abuse?

    For people living in Ireland, including returned emigrants, Sage Advocacy offer a tailored support service for survivors, you can learn more about that service HERE


    For people living abroad, many of the Irish Centres will have specific support services in place, for example Irish in Britain in the UK, have compiled a listing of these services, HERE

  • 9. Can you give me information about bringing my pet to Ireland?

    You will find Government guidance on the process involved in bringing your pet to Ireland HERE 


    Note!

    Please consider that many private landords and social housing providers may have resctrictions in place in relation to pets and sadly, some have a strict NO pets policy. This is particulary the case if the accommodation in question is 'apartment-style' living. 


     If you have a much loved pet that you plan to bring with you, it's best to check out regulations with a landlord in advance. 

  • 10. Can you give me some information about bringing my car and goods into the country?
