Each year, our Ambassador, Seán Keane performs a special concert in support of our work with returning Irish emigrants.

Christmas Concert 2026

Safe Home Ireland is proud to host its annual Christmas Concert, featuring our Ambassador, Seán Keane, alongside the Timahoe Male Choir, Laois Community Choir and ‘Just Alice’ on Sunday 6th December in St. Peter's Church of Ireland, Portlaoise, Co. Laois


St. Peter’s Church is one of Portlaoise oldest surviving buildings, dating back to around 1556, when the town was known as Maryborough. This historic setting provides perfect backdrop for an evening of music, community and Christmas spirit.

About the Artists

Seán Keane became Ambassador for Safe Home Ireland in 2021 and continues to champion and advocate for our mission. Hailing from Caherlistrane, Co. Galway, Seán is renowned for his distinctive voice and sean-nós singing tradition. Blending Irish traditional music with folk, country and blues influences, he has captivated audiences worldwide. Seán’s singing often evoke themes of emigration, belonging and the meaning of home, resonating with the experiences of many Irish people living abroad. Through his music, his connection with the Irish diaspora and his advocacy for our work, Seán plays a vital role in helping Safe Home reach wider audiences and highlight the importance of supporting those who wish to return to Ireland.


The Timahoe Male Choir, founded in 2023 by Damien Bowe in Co. Laois, is a vibrant community choir with members ranging in age from 20 to 80. Known for energetic and inclusive performances of traditional and contemporary songs, the Choir have performed at Electric Picnic in 2025 and 2026, the New York St. Patrick’s Day Parade 2026, the Ploughing Championship 2026 and numerous charity and community events around Ireland and abroad.


Laois Community Choir was set up by Music Generation Laois in 2024 and has firmly established itself in the fabric of musical life in Portlaoise and surrounding areas. Led by a team of MGL Musician Educators, Directed by Nuala Kelly, Laois Community Choir has a membership of 100+, across all ages and stages of life. Weekly rehearsals are filled with fun, camaraderie and the joy of singing together.


‘Just Alice’ is a rising Irish singer-songwriter, who blends folk, Americana, and country influences with heartfelt, honest storytelling. Known for her intimate live sets and lyrics that stay with you, she brings emotion to the forefront of every performance. Recent performances include Electric Picnic and Latitude Festival as well as opening slots for Paddy Casey, Roisin Ó, and Mundy. From the quiet corners of Laois to festival stages, she wants to share her music and connect with every listener.
